Subject: 18978/Adopt Drug Free Zone/General Assembly Date: Thu, 28 Mar 1991 16:43:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 18978 A RESOLUTION URGING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE TO ADOPT THE DRUG FREE ZONE LEGISLATION PROPOSED BY THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TO ADOPT STIFFER LAWS WITH RESPECT TO THE FORFEITURE OF PROPERTY USED IN THE SALE AND USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, AND TO TAKE SUCH OTHER MEASURES AS MAY BE NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE TO WAGE A SUCCESSFUL FIGHT AGAINST SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND THE CRIME, BLIGHT AND HUMAN SUFFERING IT ENGENDERS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee be and is hereby urged to adopt the drug free zone legislation proposed by the City of Chattanooga, to adopt stiffer laws with respect to the forfeiture of property used in the sale and use of illegal drugs, and to take such other measures as may be necessary or appropriate to wage a successful fight against substance abuse and the crime, blight and human suffering it engenders.
